How to Develop Holistic Health Habits as a Modern Traditional Woman
Being a modern traditional woman means taking care of your family by being a homemaker, but also taking care of yourself by developing healthy habits. As we know, incorporating healthy habits into our daily routines can be challenging, but with dedication, it can be achieved. These habits not only benefit your health but also your family's, as you set an example for them. It also helps you take on your daily roles with ease. In this blog post, we will discuss the essential tips to help you develop holistic health habits as a modern traditional woman.

Prioritize Your Mental Health

Being a modern traditional woman can be challenging, you get stuck between what society expects of you as a woman in a modern world, and what your desires are to be a traditional woman. It's essential to prioritize your mental health as much as your physical health. Make time for yourself and focus on activities that you enjoy doing. Consider trying yoga, meditation, or breathing exercises to reduce stress and anxiety. Write in a journal or plan a self-care routine. Want a fun way to incorporate self-care? Eating Healthy

Eating a healthy diet is a significant aspect of achieving holistic health. Consider preparing nutritious meals from scratch and purchasing whole foods instead of processed ones. I am emailing a recipe of the week, if you'd like to get my weekly recipe in your inbox, you can sign up here. Incorporate fruits and vegetables into every meal and opt for lean protein sources such as chicken or fish. Keep yourself hydrated by drinking plenty of water and cutting down on sugary drinks. A healthy diet can help you feel better, giving you the energy you need to function every day.

Incorporate Regular Exercise

Regular exercise is essential to keeping your body healthy. Engage in physical activity every day by taking walks, jogging, doing house chores, and even doing home workouts. It doesn't have to be something too strenuous, anything that makes you feel comfortable and motivated to continue should be the goal. I like to compete with my mom on our Apple Fitness apps to stay motivated. Seeing her daily activity pushes me to do more. A little friendly competition can be a huge help in getting and staying motivated. Physical activity is beneficial to your overall health and can motivate you to engage in other healthy habits.

Get Adequate Sleep

Getting enough sleep is vital for your body and mind to function properly. Studies show that women actually need more sleep than men... but we all know the reality of getting enough sleep can be difficult. I personally like to track the quality of my sleep. There are a number of apps available to do this, but my favorite so far has been Sleep Cycle. Not only does it help track my sleep quality, but it wakes me up in my lightest phase of sleep so I am not so groggy when I get up in the morning. Create a routine to ensure you get at least 7 hours of sleep each night, which will also help you to better manage your daily roles as a modern traditional woman. This will keep you alert throughout the day and give you the energy to accomplish your daily tasks. Avoid drinking caffeine or using electronics directly before bed, as this can disrupt your sleep pattern.

Take Care of Your Spiritual Health

Your spiritual health is just as essential as your physical health. Take time to meditate, reflect, and appreciate all that you have. Consider practicing gratitude by writing down a daily list of what you are thankful for. Attend church or other spiritual events to help you connect with your faith, and even if you don't believe in a higher power, finding what brings you peace and calms your mind should be a priority.
Being a modern traditional woman involves taking care of your family by being a homemaker, but it also entails taking care of yourself. Taking on holistic health habits can be long-term, but with dedication, it is achievable. By prioritizing your mental health, eating healthy, regular exercise, getting enough sleep, and taking care of your spiritual health, you can lead a fulfilling life and set an example for your family. Start small, but make a conscious effort to keep moving forward. Remember, health is wealth!
