The Ultimate Guide to What Every Home Gardener Needs
Are you a woman who loves taking on traditional roles in marriage? If so, you're going to love diving into the wonderful world of home gardening! There's nothing quite like the satisfaction of nurturing and growing your very own plants, fruits, and vegetables. But, to create the perfect garden, you're going to need some essential tools. That's why I've put together the ultimate guide of what every home gardener needs in this blog post. So, whether you're just starting out or you're already an experienced gardener, don't worry - I've got you covered!

Garden Gloves

Having a good pair of garden gloves is crucial. I personally use this awesome pair of all-purpose gloves for my daily gardening tasks. They are the same gloves my husband uses for his work, so they are great for many different needs around the house.  They're super flexible and breathable, and not too heavy even during the scorching summer days down South. And you know what's great? They not only prevent blisters but also shield your hands from cuts and scratches. So, when you're looking for gloves, make sure they have a non-slip grip and fit you well. You wouldn't want them slipping off while you're planting or doing some heavy weeding, right? Oh, and don't forget to choose gloves made from breathable material like cotton, so your hands stay cool and sweat-free.

When dealing with prickly plants like those with thorns, you might find it necessary to grab a pair of trusty leather gloves. Even during scorching months, I always reach for my go-to leather gloves whenever I'm working around the Yucca plants in my yard. Those little suckers hurt way more than any splinter I've ever had and just love to embed themselves into your skin. Definitely not a fun experience, I can tell you that!

Hand Trowel

A hand trowel is one of the most versatile tools in your gardening arsenal. It's perfect for planting small shrubs, digging holes for bulbs, and removing weeds. Look for one with a comfortable handle and a sturdy blade. You don't want it to bend or break after a few uses. My favorite trowel is the one I ordered for our wedding. There's something special about planting using the tool we used to plant our peach tree during our ceremony.

Pruners

Pruning is an essential part of gardening. It's the process of cutting back dead or overgrown branches and stems to promote healthy growth. That's why a good pair of pruners is a must-have for any gardener. Look for ones with a bypass blade, which will make a clean cut without damaging the plant. Remember to keep your blades sharp and clean, as dull or dirty blades can cause damage. You can grab pruners online or at any garden center. I prefer the Fiskers brand for most of my gardening tools.

Watering Can/Spray Hose Nozzle

Every plant needs water to survive and thrive. That's why a watering can is an essential tool for any gardener. Look for one with a balanced weight and a comfortable handle. You don't want it to be too heavy or too light, making it difficult to carry when full. Also, make sure that it has a narrow spout, allowing you to direct the water where you need it most. This collapsible can is amazing for so many different uses. And it makes storing your can sooooo easy! If your garden is larger (like the 1/4 acre we are gardening on) get yourself a good spray hose nozzle.

Garden Hat

Gardening is a wonderful way to enjoy the outdoors, but it can be hard on your skin. That's why a garden hat is an essential accessory for any gardener. Look for one with a wide brim to protect your face and neck from the sun. You may also want to consider a hat with a built-in sweatband, adjustable strap, and breathable material, making it comfortable to wear for long hours. There are so many cute feminine hats you can find online. I love adding a touch of beauty to my outdoor chores. I have a beautiful straw visor with pearl beads I found last summer at Cracker Barrel during my bachelorette trip with my friends. This one on Amazon is IDENTICAL (and cheaper than the one I got... ugh). It is one of my favorite accessories in and out of the garden.

Gardening is not just a relaxing and enjoyable hobby—it also brings a sense of pride and accomplishment. But hey, to create the perfect garden, you gotta have the right tools, right? From garden gloves to pruners, we've got you covered with this ultimate guide. So, why wait? Start your gardening journey today and get your hands dirty! Happy planting, folks! 🌱🌼
